Portable Bluetooth speakers are always a good option to buy for someone special (or yourself) when Black Friday’s early tech sales start. One notable model in the sale is the JBL Clip 5, which has dropped to an all-time low of $50. 30 yen off the regular price.
We often recommend JBL products in our buying guides, including the best portable Bluetooth speakers and the best travel gifts. These are generally durable devices, offering enough capacity for the beach or barbecue, for example (but avoid using them on public transport if you don’t want to risk the wrath of your fellow passengers) ).

As the name suggests, the JBL Clip 5 has a built-in carabiner that allows you to easily attach it to your backpack, belt loop, etc. JBL has announced that they have redesigned the carabiner and made the opening wider. This makes it easier to attach the speaker to a wider range of objects.
The speaker measures just 1.75 inches but is said to deliver solid audio with punchy bass and up to 7 watts of output. The JBL Clip 5 has an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, so it should be durable as well.
The speaker is claimed to run for up to 12 hours on a single charge, but there’s also a Playtime Boost option that adds up to 3 hours of additional playback time. Additionally, you can pair two Clip 5s for stereo audio or connect the speakers to JBL’s other Auracast-enabled models to enhance sound.
