The AIPT Comics Podcast reaches its 300th episode this week and we’re joined by writer Ryan North. We uncover the recently released Star Trek: Lower Decks choose-your-own-adventure graphic novel, the upcoming series, the amazing Fantastic Four, and Doctor Doom in 2025. It includes what you need to “mastermind” a “One World Under Doom” story.

Interview: Ryan North (“Star Trek: Lower Decks: Warp Your Own Way Out” October 22nd, “Fantastic Four”, “Rise of the Emperor Doom”)

Ryan, thank you for joining us for the second time on the AIPT Comics Podcast. Star Trek: Lower Decks: Warp Your Own Way will be released on October 22nd, the ongoing Lower Decks #1 will be released on November 13th, and Fantastic Four will be released in the huge year of 2025. We’re having our geekiest year yet, so what’s your favorite geeky thing that was created this year? Star Trek Lower Decks/Warp Your Own Way Choose Your Own It’s an adventure! What is the process of plotting something like this? Has anything from Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet paved the way for new experiments? How many “storylines” can you pull from a graphic novel? ?This may be blasphemy, but do you have a favorite ending for a graphic novel? ?Is the ongoing Star Trek: Lower Decks series a direct continuation of the animated show or a different time period? Is it done in? I heard that Heather Antos is basically an encyclopedia of Star Trek lore – how valuable was it to have her available? Footnote, you’re one of the best in that field …How does it feel to have them back?! Without spoiling anything, Lower Decks #1 touches on some fun parts of Trek’s past. Are there any corners of Trek you haven’t explored in the comics yet? There’s a lot of science in Final Fantasy. Star Trek: Lower Decks lets you stretch your science legs in different ways Considering how much science is in the title, is The Rise of Emperor Doom also scientific, or is it always just magic? The lower deck crew How would they deal with Doctor Doom? Could they withstand his powers?
