Dark Horse Comics has announced that Into the Unbeing Part 2 #1 will be in comic shops on February 12, 2025. The four-issue series continues the excellent sci-fi horror that ended in September. The series is written by Zach Thompson with art by Hayden Sherman and characters by Jim Campbell.

“With INTO THE UNBEING, Zack dug into something fundamental,” Sherman said. “Something very unsettling and nostalgic. The terrifying scale of how the world is changing around us and the fear of being caught up in it and figuring out who you are. Zack. I’m so glad to be back in the second half of this cataclysmic book to visualize the anxiety that effortlessly builds.”

So what is Into the Unbeing Part 2 about?

Continuing our journey through time and space, Into the Unbeing Part 2 follows the survivors of a climate science team stranded inside an incomprehensibly monstrous creature. This ancient being is both a corpse and an eerie landscape full of hidden dangers. Our heroines are joined by a new compatriot, a brutal creature known only as the Stranger. This stranger claims to have lived here for a century, claims to know the exit, and claims there is still much to see. Join our heroines as they return from the depths of hell and make a perilous ascent to the heart of what is not. Will any of them survive? And if that happens, what will happen to them?

“I’m so excited to be returning to the world of INTO THE UNBEING,” Thompson admitted. “This is a comic I’ve always dreamed of drawing, using vast scale to serve a five-course meal of anxiety. But beyond that, this is a very A story of losing one’s world and finding a way to keep going. I can’t wait for people to witness what Hayden does on this page, because it’s your fucking heart. Because it will melt it.”

MILWAUKEE, OR (October 23, 2024) – Dark Horse Comics was recently announced as the artist for the upcoming Absolute Wonder Woman and the critically acclaimed Cemetery Kids Don’t Die The existential horror of Into the Unbeing is expanded upon by the use of powerhouse artist Hayden Sherman. Author Zach Thomspon and prolific letterer Jim Campbell. Into the Unbeing Part 2 continues exactly where Part 1 left off. It blends the science fiction, body horror genres with a fun twist of Lovecraftian horror as you step into a world that defies everything you know about the laws of nature.

Sherman returns as the main cover artist with a variant cover celebrating the success of this horror-filled series featuring Alison Sampson (Sleeping Beauty) and a special incentive variant by Matias Vergara (CODA).

Praise for Non-Existence Part 1:

“Anthropocene Alien” – Deniz Camp (The Ultimates, Absolute Martian Manhunter)

“If you think this series is weird, wait until you read Into The Unbeing: Part One #4. The creatures, artistry, and outright fate these characters experience only increase.” I’m going to read the issue.”—AIPT

“The physical horror…was taken to a gigantic level. It was an amazing ride!” – Patton Oswalt.

“The experience borrows elements equally from HP Lovecraft and Alex Garland’s Annihilation, but it doesn’t feel derived from either influence. Thompson’s paranoid, cynical screenplay is matched by Sherman’s unconventional perspective on familiar scenarios, and both storytellers perfectly complement each other’s approaches to the subject matter.” – Comicbook.com
