This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Warcraft gaming universe, but there will be no BlizzCon gathering to celebrate. So Blizzard is doing the next best thing by hosting live streaming events.
Blizzard has announced that a special Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct Stream will begin on Wednesday, November 13th at 1pm ET. Broadcasts will run on Blizzard’s official streaming channels on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok.
Other than a special concert celebrating World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary, there isn’t much information on what Warcraft fans can expect during the livestream. Following the stream, Blizzard will broadcast a live concert from Switzerland called “World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music.” 21st Century Orchestra and Choir Tales of Fantasy, Ardito, and Madrijazz Gospel perform selected songs from the MMORPG’s iconic soundtrack.
Activision Blizzard announced in April that it would not be holding a BlizzCon gathering this year, despite WoW’s important milestone. Perhaps it’s because things have been a bit shaky for gaming companies in recent years. Microsoft added Activision Blizzard to the list of 1,900 job cuts along with ZeniMax earlier this year, and months after the studio formed the industry’s largest union.
