One of the biggest games on the not-too-distant horizon is Monster Hunter Wild. The next edition of Capcom’s hit series will be released on February 28th, but you can get a taste of it during an open beta test next week.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be the first to check out this beta starting Monday, October 28th at 11pm ET. This test will run for 48 hours. Capcom will then open the server to all PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC players on Halloween at 11pm. The open beta ends on Sunday at 9:59 p.m. November 3rd.
In the beta version, you can create both your own character and a cat-like palico companion. In addition to being able to transfer your character creation data throughout the game, participating in the beta will also earn you a virtual pendant and a few other goodies. The Beta Story Trial includes two hunts, one a basic tutorial and the other offering a chance to explore the environment aboard the Sacred Vehicle. You can also take on both quests in online multiplayer (Monster Hunter Wild supports cross-play) or receive assistance from computer-controlled support hunters.
