Short-form videos are so common these days that it’s not uncommon to discover new songs and artists from apps like TikTok and Instagram. Instagram has started rolling out Spotify integration that will let you add songs you hear from your posts and Reels directly to your audio streaming app, 9to5Mac reported. If your Instagram post uses a song and the song is linked at the bottom of the screen, tap the song name to go to the audio preview page. Right next to the audio scrubber, you’ll see a new button called “Add” with the Spotify logo on it.
Tap that Add button to add the song to your Spotify library’s Favorite Songs. You’ll need to link your Spotify account to Instagram the first time you do it, but from then on it’s a one-tap process. This feature is currently available to all users worldwide. Back in August, mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi discovered another type of integration between two apps he was developing. This feature allows Instagram users to continuously share what they’re listening to on Spotify, which will appear as a note above their profile photo.
Since last year, TikTok has had the ability to add songs you hear from videos to your music streaming library. This version’s features not only work with Spotify, but also with Apple Music and Amazon Music.
