Comixology Originals is still going on. At the NYCC event held at Amazon’s offices, Comixology head Jeff DiBartolomeo announced 17 newly acquired projects, the launch of five new creator-owned titles, and a new print publishing partner. .

On the print side, in addition to the previously announced deal with Abraze, Comixology announced a new publishing deal with Mad Cave Studios, including Beneath, Boxed, Breaklands V2 and V3, Ghostbox, The Ghost of Wreckers Cove, Groupies, Midstate, nostalgia, and wag. The release schedule will be announced at a later date.

Who doesn’t use Comixology Originals?

“Comixology Originals’ exclusive digital content line plays a critical role in our business,” DiBartolomeo said in a statement. “The Comixology Originals program is here to stay. We have signed 17 new creator-owned projects, with new teams joining the family and fan-favorite creators returning to work with us. Given the scale of this expansion, The Beat spoke with DiBartolomeo to find out what’s going on with this line. It’s been under the radar since the standalone Comixology site was absorbed into Amazon’s Kindle program.

One thing is clear: Amazon seems committed to continuing to publish comics. In addition to the titles available digitally, Ablaze will be publishing 2024 Eisner Award-nominated Gothic love story Parliament of Rooks by Abigail Jill Harding and Richard Starkings as a single issue starting this month . In November, Harvey Kurtzman’s Marley’s Ghost, by co-writer Josh O’Neill and artist Gideon Kendall, will be released by Ablaze in time for the holidays. Grammaton Punch, by Miles Gunter and Brian Undan, is scheduled for release next year.
