Dark Horse Comics has announced the next installment in the Stranger Things comic book series, and this time it’s a tribute to one of the series’ most beloved (albeit short-lived) characters, Eddie Manson (played by Joseph Quinn). The send-off will be published as a limited series. ).
Debuting in winter 2025, Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: Rise of Hellfire are four-issue prequel comics that precede the events of Stranger Things Season 4. Written by Jody Houser and Eric Campbell, illustrated by Diego Galindo, and colored by Diana. Sousa, Nate Pekos Letter. Issue 1 features variant covers by Magali Villanueve, Rebecca Puebler, Jeremy Wilson, Nimit Malavia, and Kyle Lambert.
The crossover comic follows Eddie’s “rise to become the de facto leader of the Hellfire Club,” with flashbacks to the campaign that fostered his love of Dungeons & Dragons and how he scouted Lucas, Mike, and Dustin. . We also get a glimpse of some of the fantasy words they considered at the table before real-life monsters entered their lives.
“Jody Houser and Eric Campbell spotlight Eddie Manson’s pure heart, which fosters heroism in all those around him, and how Dungeons & Dragons can strengthen the bonds of friendship. To celebrate, we’ve artfully interwoven two popular IPs,” said Senior Editor Spencer Cushing. “What better way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of a popular game than through the nostalgic lens of Stranger Things?”
Hauser added, “The moment I saw Stranger Things Season 4, I knew the story of Eddie Manson and the Hellfire Club would be the perfect sequel to the Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons miniseries.Eric also… I also know how D&D fosters friendships and storytellers, and it was great to explore Hawkins through that lens.”
Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: Rise of Hellfire #1 (all 4 parts) will be available at your local comic shop and digitally on February 19, 2025. It’s currently available for pre-order for $3.99.
