Ninth Circle today announced Blood Train, a new one-shot by Adam Glass and Bernard Chang. Released in early July, Ninth Circle is 28 Days Later meets The Ruins in this high-stakes standalone horror story.

Adam Glass talks about his inspiration for the book:

“As I’ve gotten older, much of my writing has been inspired by my fears not just for my own well-being, but for the well-being of my children. Much of the experience I cherished as a young adult , is becoming increasingly difficult for Gen Z. Just as the Ukraine war was brewing, I was filled with worry when my college-age kids excitedly announced plans to backpack through Europe by train. As I thought about the potential risks, the recent lockdown due to COVID-19, and the growing anxiety, the idea for BLOOD TRAIN took shape. I loved it from the moment I came up with the story. I wanted to collaborate with one of the artists, Bernard Chan. Bernard, who is an excellent artist and a passionate world traveler, immediately accepted this project together. I hope you feel as excited as I poured my heart into bringing this work to life.”

Bernard Chan talks about working with the creative team and why he decided to publish this book.

“Working on “BLOOD TRAIN” was a blood-curdling experience! “Story” is always at the final layer of the process, but “collaboration” is the lasting experience that I ultimately cherish. It’s an experience. Adam Glass has been like Brawl Stars to me since working on Teen Titans for over two years at DC Comics. We hope our love and passion for storytelling is reflected on our pages and leaves you wanting more.

Check out the preview below.

After backpacking through Asia, a group of friends begin their journey home aboard the Siberian Express. Little do they know, they have bought a one-way ticket to hell. One of them is infected with a biological weapon and turns into a monster that slaughters everyone on the train. If the biological weapons reach their destination in Europe, World War III will begin. Now, these friends have to make a difficult choice. You can kill your loved ones to save the world, or you can die trying.

Every month, NINTH CIRCLE brings you the best horror from the industry’s top creators!
