Another semester has concluded for The Uncanny Experience, an immersive X-Men fan convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The historic Minneapolis Club features two days of bursts of mutant activity as participants become students, attend classes, meet creators (like Chris Claremont), and explore the halls of a mansion environment. was reborn at the Xavier Institute. The event, dubbed “Sophomore,” has only been around for two years, but it’s already sold out before the first day of classes begins.

Creating a unique world within the X-Men fandom, the Uncanny Experience features an “Institute House” system where participants can choose to join either House Xavier, House Hellfire, House Morlock, or House Pride. Announced. This activation allowed participants to further immerse themselves in the boarding school environment and connect with X-fans on a deeper level while associating their personalities with different brands within X-World. Members of Congress then received a completely unique pep rally, with each chamber having a different experience. During the pep rally, attendees took part in a playful competition to name the House Royal, who would later be crowned at the after-party celebration.

At the afterparty at the mansion, everyone took part in a night of dancing, drag, and a fun activation of the Hellfire Club. Attendees were taken to a special room, inducted as new members of the Hellfire Club, and asked to vote. Who will be the new ruler? Emma Frost and Selene. Indeed, if you were there, voting was just the beginning of an action-packed performance.

Inside the mansion on Sunday, each newly united House of Representatives will be seen posing for classic portraits in front of a wood-paneled fireplace, while grand prize winners will also receive a trophy and two VIP tickets to the 2025 event. and an enthusiastic cosplay contest to take home the event room. The weekend concluded with the now-traditional graduation ceremony, where Claremont signed and handed out the mutant diplomas to all students in attendance in a ceremony with true dignity and atmosphere.
