It looks like Bungie has its sights set on the mobile gaming market, as new mobile sci-fi RPG shooter Destiny: Rising is coming to Android and iOS. This spin-off is being developed by NetEase Games, the same company that developed the free-to-play Diablo: Immortal. Destiny: Rising will also be free to download and play at launch.
Although Destiny: Rising is set in a different timeline than Destiny and Destiny 2, NetEase promises players to meet some familiar and new faces. The story focuses on a time after the Dark Ages. Players will explore a post-“collapse” Earth and see how humanity attempts to recover from the loss of civilization.

In addition to first-person play, NetEase Games is introducing a new third-person perspective that was previously limited to certain weapons and equipment. If you own a smartphone, the game also supports smartphone-enabled controllers.
A spin-off of Destiny 2, Destiny: Rising will feature both familiar and new modes in both PvE and PvP modes. Players can create clans to make friends and fight together or against each other in challenges.
Bungie/NetEase Games
Since NetEase Games is developing and publishing Destiny: Rising, you may have noticed that the game is likely to include a lot of microtransactions. Unfortunately, we don’t have any concrete information on this at the moment, but with Diablo: Immortal as an example, these fears could come true.
It’s worth noting that despite the success of its latest expansion, Final Shape, Bungie just laid off 220 employees this past August. Many Destiny 2 players may remember that the company recently announced a roadmap detailing its future plans in the wake of these layoffs.
NetEase Games is currently accepting sign-ups for a closed alpha test next month. If you are interested, please visit the official website for more information. There is no official release date at this time.
