Ahead of this week’s New York Comic Con, Dynamite Comics announced details for the third phase of the Thundercats title from Declan Shalvey and Drew Moss. The series sees him face off against the franchise’s ultimate big bad, Mumm-Ra.

The new era of ThunderCats comics from Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products is a revelation for the industry and readers, bringing in a new wave of fans. The next big chapter is just around the corner!
The first story arc of the new comic series focused on origin stories, introducing fans to these beloved characters and their core mythology. The Thundercats landed on Third Earth after escaping the tragic fate of their homeworld of Thundera. New characters such as Kalika have been introduced, as well as classic elements such as Snarf and Thundertank.
The second phase then began with an epic showdown between the Thundercats and the mutants, with each chapter subtly highlighting members of the core cast. Fans will also get a preview and introduction to a mysterious character in Apex who will be key to future storylines. Midway between arcs, guest creators such as Stephen Mooney and Joe Mulvey appeared in stand-alone chapters that covered unexplored corners of the lore, offering readers new perspectives and styles.
ThunderCats #11 celebrates almost a full year of this epic storytelling era and the beginning of the third major cycle of new epics from Declan Shalvey and Drew Moss. After trying to keep quiet about the unauthorized exploration seen in the previous chapter, the young duo of Wily Cat and Wily Kit finally reveal the discovery of Mam-Ra’s Black Pyramid to the rest of the group. When Lion-O learns of the mystery within the obsidian wall, he makes a fateful decision.
Lion-O embarks on a solo quest into the heart of Mumm-Ra’s lair. He faces and fights their most feared enemies in single combat. If he can defeat the demon priest, the Thundercats’ right to a new home on Third Earth will be secured. But if he fails, the last survivor of Thundera could lose everything, even his own life.

The usual staff including Lucio Parrillo, Declan Shalvey, Jay Lee, and Ivan Tao will all report. These are joined by the unique style of breakout artist Mannix, action figure work by Drew Moss, and incentive versions by Felipe Massaferra.
