Image Comic has announced The Lucky Devils, a new nine-issue series from Charles Soule and Ryan Browne. With the first issue on sale January 8th, the 8 Billion Genie team sets their sights on this fantasy satire.

“After the incredible success of ‘Eight Billion Genies,’ Ryan Braun and I knew our next project had to be something truly special,” Soule said. “Lucky Devils” feels exactly like that. It’s also a spiritual successor to “Genies,” where paranormal phenomena unexpectedly intersect with the lives of ordinary, unsuspecting people. That being said, it’s also very much its own beast. We’re playing with the mythology of the devil here. Not to mention, you’ll get to see Ryan draw hundreds of hilariously badass little demons in Faust’s bargain and humanity’s fight against temptation. This is unbeatable. With The Lucky Devils, bad is good. I can’t wait for people to check it out this January.”

So what is Lucky Devils about?

The Lucky Devils is the story of two kind-hearted Chicagoans in their 20s who begin working with demons to rebuild their damaged lives. It works beyond their wildest dreams, and before long they become two of the most powerful people on the planet. They intend to use their influence to make the world a better place, but we all know what they say about the road to hell…

Mr Brown added: “Over the last year, Charles Soule and I have created, revised, restructured, sculpted, edited and polished Lucky Devils, taking the angle that worked so well for ‘Eight’ into the ‘tiny creatures that confuse humanity’. We’ve reinvented the approach of “Billion Genie”. Oh, and as always, I can draw as much crazy world-building madness as the page will allow! Heart, humor, sin, and madness all born to destroy hell once and for all It was wrapped around two little punk demons! ”

PORTLAND, Ore., October 14, 2024 — From #1 New York Times bestselling author Charles Soule (“The Oracle Year,” “The Infinite Vessel,” “Star Wars”) and the critically acclaimed The highly successful creative team Astronauts, consisting of artist Ryan Braun (Cursed Words, God’s Hates), has reunited for an all-new series, The Lucky Devils, a sequel to the hugely popular Eight Billion Genies . This nine-issue fantasy/satire adventure is scheduled to be released by Image Comics in January 2025.

“After the incredible success of ‘Eight Billion Genies,’ Ryan Braun and I knew our next project had to be something truly special,” Soule said. “Lucky Devils” feels exactly like that.
