Ticketmaster has announced that it will be the first ticketing company to take advantage of new features introduced to Apple Wallet in iOS 18. Ticketmaster tickets displayed in the Apple app include venue maps, directions to parking, local weather forecasts, music recommendations from Apple Music, and more, according to the company’s blog post. Teams and event spaces can also add links to their own apps and websites that customers can access from their wallet tickets.
The company applied the new technology to two sporting events for the first time this year, and said it plans to roll out the feature to more events in 2025. While Ticketmaster is touting its role as the first adopter of the new wallet ticket experience, the new features aren’t just available to that company. Given that Ticketmaster was seen in the PR images announcing the new feature, it seems likely that the two companies had an agreement on how to jointly promote the update.
Apple Wallet boasts several upgrades in the latest operating system release, including a new Tap to Cash feature for faster transfers. There were some positives to the initial iOS 18 rollout last month, but the big debut of Apple Intelligence may not happen until late October.
