The best Prime Day Kindle sale takes up to 25% off Scribe and Paperwhite models

In the final hours of Amazon’s October Prime Day sale, there are only two Kindle models on sale (or actually available for purchase) on Amazon’s site. Why are there only two active listings for Kindle right now? It’s almost certainly because Amazon is announcing a new model soon. There is no hard evidence to support that. However, consider that the newest option, Scribe, is two years old. Consider that Amazon doesn’t have a color e-reader in its lineup (though its competitors do). Add to that the fact that the model is missing from one of Amazon’s biggest sales of the year. There is no doubt that new models will appear.

So why would you want to take part in the current Kindle sale? Some people don’t. However, some may prefer proven models to the latest ones. The good news is that e-readers aren’t meant to do everything a tablet can do. It should display crisp 300 dpi text, have a battery that lasts weeks, be comfortable to hold, and have a soft front light for reading in low light. Both of these models do that (plus Scribe adds the ability to take notes). Here are two of the best Prime Day Kindle deals (all two).

Amazon Kindle dominates the e-reader market, with only two models to choose from at this time. Of course, there’s a good chance we’ll see a new Kindle. Rumors suggest as much, and the last entry in the lineup was launched over two years ago. However, e-readers are not as technology-intensive as tablets, so the generational difference may not make as much of a difference.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite for $125 ($25 off): Paperwhite is an upgraded Kindle that adds a larger display, adjustable warm light, and waterproof construction. The flash front screen makes page turning easier, and the faster processor makes it even faster.

Amazon Kindle Scribe $255 ($85 off): With this tablet, you can write as well as read. It features a large 10.2-inch display, auto-adjustable warm front light, and auto-rotating display. It comes with a Basic pen, so you can use the Notes feature to convert your handwriting into text.

Kindle accessories sale

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Case for $20 ($15 off): If you already own the latest (11th generation) Paperwhite, we’ve got some great deals on cases. In addition to adding a bit of protection, opening and closing the cover can also cause your device to go to sleep in and out of sleep.

Kindle Paperwhite Essentials Bundle for $135 ($70 off): If you need a case and are picking up your first Paperwhite e-reader, get this bundle that includes the device, cover, and power adapter. It’s only $10 more than the retail price. Price of Paperwhite alone.

Prime Day Kindle Kids Sale October 2024

The kids’ Kindle is basically the same as the “adult” Kindle, but it comes with cover, an extended warranty, and a free trial of Amazon Kids+, which gives you access to audiobooks, stories, and more for kids. Additionally, there are no ads on the lock screen (Amazon makes you pay $20 for that perk on standard devices).

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Kids for $115 ($55 off): The upgraded Kids Edition of the Paperwhite e-reader features a flush-front design, waterproof construction, and a warm front light for late-night reading. Comes with cover, 2-year warranty, and 1-year kids subscription.
