Superstar artist Jock is to receive a special tribute book from 2000 AD – The newly released The Art of Judge Dredd by Jock explores the artist’s extraordinary interpretation of the classic character and , promises to see his own evolution as an artist, from green newcomer to grizzled veteran. The 11⅛ x 8 1/2 inch, 176 page hardcover will be released on May 7, 2025 with a retail price of £34.99 (approximately $45) and is available for pre-order now on the 2000 AD webshop.

Jock’s ‘The Art of Judge Dredd’ promises to be a wide-ranging look at the career of the artist who has portrayed ‘Old Stony Face’ in comics over the years, and will include a number of new works on the cult classic Pete Dredd. There’s also a special section dedicated to Travis’ concept art. Directed the big screen adaptation of Dredd (2012). In addition to the visuals, 2000 AD brand manager, writer, and former journalist Michael Molcher conducts an extensive interview with Jock to tie everything together.

Jock, also known as Mark Simpson, is a Scottish artist and designer famous in the comics world on both sides of the Atlantic. In the US, he is usually associated with work on DC and Vertigo titles such as The Losers (co-starring Andy Diggle), Faker and Hellblazer (both co-starring Mike Carey). And there’s a lot of Batman work, mostly alongside writer Scott Snyder. His most recent DC work as writer and artist is the 2022 Black Label title Batman: One Dark Knight.
Jock’s first comic book work as a professional artist was published in the British weekly comics anthology 2000 AD in 1999, where he is best known for his signature character Judge Dredd. Since then, the artist has had an extensive career in comics and movies. In film, he has worked on films such as Children of Men (2006), Ex Machina (2014), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), and Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017). I created posters and concept art. .
