Image Comics has revealed that YUNGBLUD will return in April 2025 with creator Rob Liefeld at the helm. “It’s so great to be able to find comfort in characters that you created and started a movement. They have such a history behind them. I love YUNGBLUD. These characters are… It’s my absolute passion,” Liefeld said.
Scott Mitchell Rosenberg joins Liefeld, who first teamed up with the prolific creator to launch Image Comics in April 1992. Mr. Rosenberg is the CEO of Platinum Studios and manages Youngblood for Rip Media, the facility’s owner. Mr. Rosenberg and Mr. Liefeld have combined to create new YUNGBLUD media and merchandise, starting with an all-new title written and illustrated by Liefeld himself.
Rosenberg added, “Rob and I are a great team and I’m as excited about relaunching YUNGBLUD today as I was when we first launched in 1992. This team’s great character is… The original creator has appeared in over 100 million comic publications worldwide, including crossovers with Marvel and other Image comics, as well as in its own Yungblood comics. We are excited to work with Rob Liefeld to bring this work to audiences new and old.”
Eric Stevenson, Image Comics Publisher and Chief Creative Officer, added that YUNGBLUD set the direction for Image Comics in its early years and is excited to have Liefeld back at the helm. “Rob’s vision for these characters and this concept was what drew me to Image Comics in the 1990s, so I’m especially excited that the series that started it all is finally returning! ”
