A few months ago, Google introduced a new way to search Gmail using Gemini AI. This feature, called Gmail Q&A, allows you to find specific emails and information by asking questions to the Gemini chatbot. You can ask things like, “What time do you have dinner reservations on Saturday?” Find the information you need quickly. Initially only available on Android devices, Google has now started rolling it out to iPhones.
In addition to asking questions, you can also use the ability to find unread emails from a specific sender by simply telling Gemini to “Find unread emails by (person’s name).” You can ask the chatbot to summarize topics it knows to find in your inbox, such as a months-long work project consisting of multiple conversations across multiple threads. You can also use Gemini in Gmail to perform common search queries without leaving your inbox. To access Gemini, simply tap the star icon in the top right corner of the Gmail app.
Google says it could take up to 15 days for this feature to reach your device. However, please note that you will need access to Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium in order to use them.
