Samsung plans to start using the One UI name for all consumer devices, including televisions and consumer electronics. Executive Vice President Sally Hyesun Chung made the announcement at the company’s 2024 developer conference (via 9to5Google). The One UI brand was previously exclusive to Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and wearables.
“One UI now goes beyond mobile and is the software experience on all Samsung consumer devices,” Hyesoon Jeong said on stage at the keynote in San Jose. This is part of the company’s goal for more consistent branding across the consumer ecosystem, especially as AI approaches evolve.

Samsung also teased that its next software user experience, One UI 7, will be coming to Galaxy S phones in 2025. “One UI 7 brings a fresh new look to the entire interface,” Hyesoon Jeong said at the conference. She had three goals for future software. It’s simple (purposeful), impactful (leaving a “signature impression”), and emotional design that elicits a human response from users.
Samsung VP says that One UI 7’s home screen grid represents a more focused design principle. “It’s sleeker and easier to use, and you’ll see a beautiful home screen no matter which Galaxy device you’re using,” said Hyesoon Jeong.
The company said that the release of One UI 7 will have to wait until early next year, but a beta version for developers will be available for trial by the end of this year.
