Oura’s next generation ring seems to be upgraded in every way. It features a sleeker design, longer battery life, and smarter sensors that provide deeper insights for the wearer. No more squared edges. This is the perfect ring again. According to Oura, Ring 4 has 18 more signal paths, up from eight in Gen3, combined with new smart sensing algorithms.

New features include automatic heart rate and activity detection for up to 40 activities. It comes in six colors: silver, brushed silver, gold, rose gold, stealth, and black. Stealth is made entirely of titanium. Oura Ring 4 is available for pre-order today and is expected to begin shipping on October 15, 2024. Prices start at $349.

Two Harvard University students used facial recognition technology and large-scale language models to reveal the names, occupations, and other details of their subjects. Their setup (called I-XRAY) can use that information to retrieve data such as addresses, phone numbers, family details, and portions of social security numbers from a variety of sources online.

In the demo video, Anhu Nguyen and Cane Ardeifio use the glasses to address people who appear to be strangers by name, discuss their work, and identify people they may have met in the past based on information gleaned. I brought up the location. The students told 404 Media that they developed I-XRAY to show people what is possible with current technology. The code used will not be made public.

Electrek first reported that the electric car brand doesn’t have the cheapest option, priced at $39,000. Now, the Model 3 with long-range rear-wheel drive takes that title with a retail price of $42,500.
