Image Comic has released a preview of The Feeding, a new one-shot into self-contained horror and sci-fi stories in the vein of Tales from the Crypt, Creepshow, and The Twilight Zone. Written by David M. Booher and illustrated by Drew Zucker, fans can purchase the one-shot version on October 23 wherever comics are sold.

“We’re excited to celebrate the spooky season with Feeding,” Booher said. “I grew up on horror stories, so it was great to be able to collaborate with my friend Drew Zucker to create this creepy love letter to series like Tales from the Crypt and Creepshow.” We’re so happy, and a big thank you to Syzygy Publishing and comic book champion Chris Ryall at Image Comic for helping us bring this labor of love to a wide audience. Halloween is just around the corner. , readers are in for a bloody feast!”

So, what is “feeding”?

In Feeding, Nolan Ward did everything he could to forget his disturbing past. Drinking. drugs. Day trading. sex. And even now, that past catches up with him in the form of a distorted painting called The Feeding, which eats people. And I’m hungry. Will Nolan be able to stop this demon, or will he be devoured like so many before him? Readers will be taken on a surreal journey into one man’s bloody mind. It will be…to a place and time where art is dangerous and no one is safe. Booher and Zucker are joined by Vittorio Aston for color and Andworld Design for text to bring this terrifying story to life.

“It’s so exciting to be working with this team to reimagine horror as a genre,” Zucker said. “We’ve spent years honing our skills, and to have the opportunity to tell scary stories with this group really makes you feel like a kid telling ghost stories around a campfire.” I can’t wait for everyone to be scared together.”
