Minky Woodcock: A Girl Called Cthulhu #1 will be released by Titan Comics next month. The first issue of the publisher’s four-issue miniseries titled “Hard Case Crime” is by writer and artist Cynthia von Buehler. The series follows the title character as he encounters none other than the master of macabre horror, HP Lovecraft. Today, The Beat is pleased to offer an exclusive early coverage of this issue.

Titan describes Minky Woodcock: A Girl Called Cthulhu #1 as follows:

The intrepid detective is back with an occult horror twist!
A sensational artist, author, and playwright, Cynthia von Buehler combines her brilliant illustrations with the macabre elements of HP Lovecraft and Aleister Crowley.

Inspired by the shocking and diabolical events of World War II,
Featuring monstrous men and a dastardly sea creature, this third series tells the story of Minky’s encounter with legendary horror author HP Lovecraft, creator of the terrifying Cthulhu.

In addition to the main cover by artist Selina, the first issue of the series also features various cover art and photography covers by von Buehler, Claudia Iannisiello, and Alison Simpson. A black and white version of Celina’s main cover is also available as a FOC version.

A Girl Called Cthulhu is the third in the Minky Woodcock miniseries by creator Cynthia von Buehler. In past entries in the series, Minky has encountered other historical figures from the early 20th century, including Harry Houdini and Nikola Tesla.
