Independent publisher Goats Flying Press on Thursday announced four new titles, including a graphic novel by cartoonist Juni Ba and letterer Aditya Vidhikaru.

The Brooklyn-based publisher plans to release all four books in 2025, which it is calling the Year of the Goat. In addition to Ba and Bidikar’s books, the lineup includes a horror one-shot set in 1983, the start of a new volume of Scales and Scoundrels, and the first issue of a three-part sci-fi horror comedy. Complete author credits, specs, and plot summaries for all four books can be found at the bottom of this post.

Today’s news marks a major expansion for the creator-owned publisher, which announced its existence nearly a year ago this week. Helmed by Sebastian Girner (who you may know from his comic book and editor-in-chief at TKO Studios), The Goat has had two successful Kickstarter campaigns to date and is on its way to raising over $23,000. has gained over 500 supporters. . And they did it all with a roar of “against all odds!”

The result of these campaigns is two oversized issues of the publisher’s debut series, The Dead and the Damned, written by Garner, illustrated by Kelly Williams, and written by Jeff Powell. It’s a painstaking (and excellent) fantasy comic that he wrote.

In a comics world that seems increasingly hostile to efforts at truly independent publishing, this all feels like a huge win for great comics and creator-owned works.

Garner said in a statement to The Beat:

The four titles we’re announcing today span a wide range of formats, genres, art styles, and readerships, but they’re all comics that we know need to happen, and we’re the ones doing it. . With our ever-growing number of supporters, retailers and readers, anything is possible.

We are excited to introduce these titles and look forward to sharing more information and art in the near future.

Goats Flying Press is a new future for creator-owned comics, a new home for fun, vibrant and wild stories, and a new home for comics readers, whether they’re new or long-time readers, to enjoy the best of independent work. We will work tirelessly to build this. comics.

New series information and cover artwork can be found below.

When humanity was relegated to the position of “raw material” in a galactic consumer empire, whose desire for limitless growth rivaled our own, former financial customer service AI became the The avenging angel of humanity, which merged with his body and brought him to the brink of extinction.
