It looks like Marvel will be adding yet another reformed supervillain to Gerry Duggan and Danny Kim’s West Coast Avengers storyline. Reformed super-henchman villain Chad Braxton, aka Blue Bolt, will make his first appearance in West Coast Avengers #1, emerging as the world’s biggest jerk to the superhero team and the shady, possibly unreformed Ultron.
“The Avengers have encountered a lot of rough guests over the years. Even Deadpool and Wolverine have been with the Avengers at various points. But the Avengers have never encountered anyone as bad as Blue Bolt,” Duggan said. “He’s mean, self-centered, narcissistic, and he’s only joining the West Coast unit of the Avengers to get a shorter sentence. Wait until you find out what he’s in prison for. Wow.”

Regarding the unique role Blue Bolt will play on the team, Duggan said, “The Avengers have seen a lot of roughnecks over the years.
