LEGO Horizon Adventures launches on November 14th for PS5, PC, and Switch

LEGO Horizon Adventures is one of the few first-party games Sony is releasing this year, and now we know its release date thanks to the company’s State of Play broadcast on Tuesday: The kid-friendly Horizon series is coming to PlayStation 5, PC, and Switch on November 14th.

This upcoming release date isn’t a huge shock, as the game was already scheduled to release in Holiday 2024. However, Sony got a little carried away when they accidentally revealed the release date on the PlayStation website a few weeks ago. Oops!

I had a chance to try out LEGO Horizon Adventures at Summer Game Fest in June and came away with a favorable impression. Combat is mostly faithful to that in the main Horizon games, with Aloy sneaking around looking for the best angle to attack enemies and using her Focus to find weak spots in giant dinosaur-like machines. However, it’s less like Horizon Forbidden West’s generally stoic seriousness and more in keeping with the quirky humor found in many other LEGO games. Also, for the first time in a Horizon game, local and online co-op is available.

This is a chance for Sony to bring the series to a whole new audience. Until now, the Horizon series has only been available on PlayStation consoles and PC (and in the case of Horizon Call of the Mountain, PS VR2). This could also be a test for Sony to see if some of its older games can gain new popularity on Nintendo systems and attract more players.
