Dead by Deadlight co-op shooter spinoff officially canceled

Earlier this year, Behaviour Interactive teased a few spinoff games for Dead by Deadlight. One of them was released to relatively positive reviews, while The Casting of Frank Stone and What the Fog came and went. Now that leaves one unannounced game, and today they’re dropping it for good: the company has announced that the spinoff, known only as Project T, has been canceled.

Project T is being touted as a third-person co-op shooter, and is unusual in the series in that it allows players to use guns to fight back against enemies. The game has been in beta for some time now as part of Behavior Interactive’s Insider program. Early playtests didn’t go so well, with the company stating that while “many players expressed satisfaction,” “this detailed analysis has shown that the overall results were not satisfactory.”

This doesn’t mean anything for the larger franchise, as the developer has been focusing on more experimental projects lately, and Project T seems to have fallen through the cracks. It’s a shame, but the main game still exists, as do a number of crossovers.

There’s also the aforementioned “The Casting of Frank Stone,” a narrative-driven title from Supermassive set in the same universe. And finally, “What the Fog,” a “Jumanji”-like twist on the OG game. Kids are obsessed with board games. You get the idea.
