On Tuesday, Netflix released a clip from The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep at the company’s Geeked Week 2024 event. The clip from the upcoming animated film is backed by the familiar dulcet growls of Doug Cockle, who voices Geralt of Rivia in the games.
Cockle begins the clip by enthusiastically teasing the mermaids Geralt will be battling in the film: “Yeah, he’s gonna fight some mermaids!” Cockle exclaims in the clip. “That’s gonna be amazing. That’s gonna be super cool.” Well, you can’t blame voice actors for hyping their own projects.
In the scene, Geralt and Jaskier (voiced by Joey Batey, who also played Geralt in the live-action version) are sitting by a campfire. After complaining about the “close-minded fools” in town, Jaskier realizes that Geralt is interested in Essi, playing Cupid to the melancholic, gray-haired monster slayer.

The video also revealed the official release date for The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep Sea: Originally announced for late 2024, the film will now be available on Netflix on February 11, 2025.
The film is based on the short story “A Little Sacrifice” written by Andrzej Sapkowski, creator of the Witcher universe. Set between episodes five and six of season one of the Netflix series, the film sees Geralt “being called in to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and becoming embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and mermaids.” It was produced by South Korean animation studio Studio MIR, which also produced the 2021 prequel film, “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.”
Below you can watch a clip from Geeked Week, including an introduction by Cockle’s delightful growling voice.
