PlayStation 5 users received the firmware update (24.06-10.00.00) last week, but have been experiencing a number of bugs while playing Final Fantasy 16, including the game crashing when loading saves or fast traveling. The most notable bug shared by Reddit users involved a wave of black squares approaching players and covering most of the screen.
The official Final Fantasy 16 account posted about the issue on Twitter. In the post, Square Enix said it is working with Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) to determine the cause. The company also urged gamers to be patient and wait for further updates.
Following the release of a recent PlayStation 5 system update, there have been reports of game crashes and graphical issues.
We are currently investigating the issue in cooperation with SIE and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Please wait for further updates. #FF16
