At the beginning of his career – well, the beginning of his Disney career. Like Donald Duck, he had many failed companies before that – cartoon legend Carl Burks worked as an animator and story director at Disney Studios, working on a variety of animated shorts. This was before Uncle Scrouge, or Duckburg’s creation. There were no casts with Gyro Gearloose or Magica de Spell or later a colorful cast of ducks. Way, after Carl Burks jumped from animation to comic book, first went back, and the story of Donald Duck still didn’t feel like the story of Donald Duck.…

Sanders, Mane co-creates a story that blends outlaw biker grit, Spartan philosophy, and real-world battles with human trafficking. The Rebellion has announced the action as the latest addition to the library of archive collections, in line with the 50th anniversary of the controversial title. The anthology is known as an immediate pioneer in the 2000 Gregorian calendar and has been diminished in history as a British comic that incites moral panic. According to the Rebellion press release: “For the first time in decades, the Rebellion has collected action in a series of new archive versions, including all the strips and some editorials that produced many infamous names in the 1970s!” First Hardcover Action: Before the ban, Volume 1…

Marvel’s X-Men lineup would not have been completed without the X-Force title. The book boasts some powerful character dynamics and impressive visuals thanks to author Steve Fox and artist teams Marcus Toe and Eric Arciniega, but this X-force era is uneven and this collection doesn’t change that impression completely. Collecting 2024 X-Force Run Issues #6–10, the book concludes Forge’s newly assembled strike team in tackling both internal and external threats. The series balances two major threads, with Forge, Captain Britain, Askani (Rachel Summers) and Tank facing magical technical villain La Diabla, and another storyline where Sage helps the desperate professor…
Jed Mackay’s current X-Men series is a combination of interesting ideas and superhero spectacles, and the latest trade paperbacks continue that approach. Comfortable finding current flagship titles from the Ash era, these issues move the team in an incredible direction, mixing a lot of action and character drama. It’s not without rough spots, but overall, the story and visuals land frequently. Collecting the issues of X-Men (2024) #11–18, this arc finds the X-Men protecting the Alaskan town of Meruru when a mysterious fugitive pursued by an alien killer executive appears at the entrance. Cyclops leads the team against the deadliest…
