Tony Award-nominated composer Dave Malloy has just launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a concept recording of his latest musical, “Three Houses,” which had its world premiere at the Signature Theatre earlier this year.”Recordings are one of the most important elements of the musical theater tradition. They are the way these shows live on forever, making them accessible to all, bringing the music to a global audience, and preserving the work of all the incredible artists involved,” Malloy wrote. “For Three Houses, we hope to go into the studio this fall to create a concept album, bringing the show’s music…
In a post on its social network, Bluesky revealed that it gained 2 million new users last week, a huge growth in a short space of time for a platform that only has around 8.4 million users overall. The same post included a Portuguese translation of the announcement, presumably because the majority of the new users are from Brazil. As you may know, Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes recently ordered the country’s internet service providers to block X after the website formerly known as Twitter refused to ban certain accounts that were allegedly spreading false information.Moraes also ordered…
Allpacka’s Kickstarter campaign starts today, making their innovative folding box for bikes available for pre-order. The concept behind it can be explained like this: The Allpacka One cargo box is permanently attached to your luggage carrier and is always with you, whether you suddenly go shopping after work or bring something to a BBQ. The box intuitively folds and unfolds when you need it. Meanwhile, when you don’t need the box, it folds flat and thus barely gets in the way. So your bike doesn’t get any wider and the folded box doesn’t get in the way of getting on…

It’s been a few months since Intuit shut down the popular budgeting app Mint. I was a Mint user for many years; millions of other users like me enjoyed how easily Mint allowed us to track all accounts in one place and monitor credit scores. I also used it regularly to help me track spending, set goals like pay my mortgage down faster and with general money management.Ahead of Mint’s demise, I gave Credit Karma, Intuit’s other financial app, a try but found it to be a poor Mint alternative. So I set out to find a true replacement in…
Premium audio brand Bang & Olufsen is known for its high-end designs and equally outrageous prices. Typically, the company’s earphones and headphones are more expensive than most of its competitors, but not astronomically so. But the company’s flagship noise-canceling headphones have changed that. Following the $999 Beoplay H95, B&O has introduced the $1,549 Beoplay H100. According to the company, the H95 is their “most successful headphone to date,” and the H100 improves on that model in a number of ways.Like most of B&O’s headphones, the Beoplay H100 are made from premium materials, from the lambskin leather ear pads to aluminum…
A federal judge has ruled that social media companies cannot be required to block certain types of content from teenagers, meaning parts of a controversial social media law in Texas will no longer be enforceable. The ruling comes after tech industry groups challenged a Texas law, the SCOPE (Children Online Protection through Enhanced Parental Empowerment Act), which imposes age verification requirements and other policies on how social media companies treat teenage users. But as The Verge points out, the measure also requires companies to “prevent minors from being exposed to harmful content,” including content that “glorifies” self-harm or drug abuse. It was…
