Image credit: Dark Horse Comics A rogue group of outcasts and underdogs (and a monstrous but endearing creature known as an Otyug) encounter their old “friends” and, determined to outdo them in a local tournament, plan a raid on a nearby treasure-filled tomb. But it turns out there’s a reason why the treasure was left there for so long… Having already appeared in two prose novels, The Fallbacks already look like an established and very well developed team. Comic book artist Greg Pak didn’t create comics or write novels (though Jaylee Johnson deserves credit for that), but he seems to…
The first significant casualty of the Diamond bankruptcy has been revealed. Humanoid, the Los Angeles-based company of the famous French publisher, has just filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, or irrevocable bankruptcy. Chapter 7 means that the company’s assets are liquidated and used to pay creditors. However, it doesn’t seem like there are that many assets. The company has less than $50,000 in assets and between $10 million and $50 million in debt, according to court filings. The bankruptcy was filed in Maryland Bankruptcy Court (where did you hear that?) and lists HC Wind Down Corporation as the parent company, with…

The book quickly rose to the top of the publishing charts in Japan, breaking publishing records and becoming the best-selling book in Japanese history by the end of 1982. To date, we have sold over 8 million units in Japan and maintain our superiority. It became an international sensation,…

There’s the Eisner Award, the Harvey Award, and the Ringo Award, all named after famous cartoonists. The Kirby Awards are also scheduled to be held from 2026. (To be fair, both the Eisners and Harveys considered the name Kirby at some point during development…!)
