Skybound and Image Comics have reunited the iconic teams from the new Noir series, which will be released this fall. David and Maria Raffam explain that they are dead, working with co-creators Chris Black and David Alpert, who are said to be “an unforgettable story of crime, justice, death and how far a small town goes to keep secrets.” The letter is processed by Dee Kaniff. Here’s the complete overview: Emily Bridge has always linked the citizens of Port Lyndon to hope and opportunity. But when one man shocks to burn himself, the bridge now brings something else to the…
There is a lot of recent business-related news, so here’s a summary, but please scroll to the end for my own report. John Moyzan in a happy era •Boom has received several layoffs, including senior editor Jon Moisan, editor David Mariotte, Associate Publicity Amanda Lawson, and retailer sales manager Rosalind Monelhead. Moisan and Morehead are what I think of as comic veterans. Moisan was in the boom for three years, with Skybound in six years and Marvel in six years. He also worked at Dark Horse, so if you’re looking for someone who saw it all, Moizan is your guy.…
The 256-page full-color kids graphic novel by Romo the Wolf Boy, respected British cartoonist Ed “Ilya” Hilyyayer, calls for Kickstarter supporters to hit the target before the clock runs out early on June 19th. An all-age graphic novel with visually distinctive style, Ilya intends Mute’s Wild Boy, Romo, and his friend Francis, a potential series of young pairs who are unlikely to join the travel circus, with Romo as a story of a potential series. In an interview with the Graphic Memoirs, Ilya describes the book’s tone as a blend of “comedy drama, adventure, and a mild, creepy touch of…
Every week there’s a real horny that hits the stands of new comics. Readers often know exactly what they are most interested in (they have their pull lists sitting in the reliable hands of comic shops), but they are sometimes told about opposing that old trim and judging the book by its cover. Some truly amazing cover art hits every week. These were the ones that caught Colin’s eye for the week of June 18th, 2025. Alien vs Avengers #4 Variant by Jessica Fon Alien franchises are at their best and isolated. In these stories, fans feel that the main…
DaystarAuthors: Aaron Lost and Matt EmmonsArtist: Matt EmmonsLetter: Becca CarreyPublisher: Second Press / $20June 2025 Comets, perhaps creatures, some kind of sense made the forest home. And the animals, well. Aaron Rost’s voice, especially the dialogue poem, truly captures the story where every character is defined by suffering. His love for Matt Emmons and the gentle naturalist sketchbook art click on the amazing thing on Rossdy’s radio, taking Hawk and aiming for the camera. But Emmons is willing to go to where Daystar shines that light and sinks. Like many of the recent Emmons catalogues, this graphic novel is about…
The umbrella academy is one of the most important comics of my life. After hearing that Gerald Way was a writer, I read my first volume in college, the Apocalypse Suite (I grew into my chemistry romance as a teenager). Mixed with Way’s wild and imaginative script, Gabrielba’s unique artwork, it was my gateway to indie comics, unlike the comics I read. So I say I’m excited about the umbrella academy. Plan B#1 is modest. Plan B#1 starts by rewinding the clock on the day 43 extraordinary children are born. Fans of the umbrella academy probably know the story. Iss…
I love Marvel’s rivals. It was a fun gaming experience, especially when teaming up with friends. But the biggest part of the game was how to introduce new fans and long-time friends to the world of Marvel comics. Now, Marvel Rivals: Ignite #1 offers real comics for players to pick up. Better yet, it is based on the latest set of in-game skins. Skin is based on artwork from Peach Mococo, who has become one of the best writers/artists in the business. Momoko also contributes to the anthology of “ko-sute-iwa.” This takes place in the Devil’s Day-to-Day Universe, featuring X-men’s…

Flip Town Designer: Stephen Alamini Publisher: Staff Game Player Write: 1-4 Age: 12+ Hours: 30-45 minutes summary: I supported Fliptown when it became Kickstarter and finally brought it to me on Game Day and it was really fun. Flip Town is a unique flip and writing game that tries to ensure that players navigate the Wild West to collect money, money, stars and not the level needed to avoid the sheriff’s attention. Not only do you need to manage your own playerboard resources, you can also play 3-hand poker. A deck of cards is used at the top of each…
