At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, DC’s “Gotham City” panel pulled back Bat-Mythos’ wildest corner curtains, making one thing clear. Matt Fraction’s Batman is a love letter to Gotham (and Batmobile) Batman writer Matt Fraction kicked off the panel and described the hated crusade as a “universal LEGO” where every story can build. He brings a bold new energy to Batman #1, and Jorge Zimenez recalls the story of “One Dawn,” a tone that evokes art, a throwback in blue and ashes costumes, and a tone that evokes his Hawkeye run. Fraction’s Gotham is a fractured map of gang territory inspired…
As a kid in the 90s, street sharks had everything I loved. The protagonist is an anthropomorphized animal. A combination of teenage anxiety and superpowers. A very catchy theme song. Currently, Street Sharks are back for a new series thanks to IDW Publishing and Mattel. Stephanie Williams (Nubia and Amazon) and Ariel Medel (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs Street Fighter) are at the helm. I had the opportunity to read the first issue of Street Shark, and it suits the vibe of the show: The Shark is in the fight against the mad scientist Paradigm and his seas, and it…

Massiveverse is one of the best things to happen in manga in recent years. Not only does it put a new spin on the superhero genre, but it also pushes the boundaries of what comics can do thanks to multimedia efforts such as animated short films and podcasts. Large-scale creators Kyle Higgins (writer and co-writer of Radiant Black and No/One), Ryan Parrott (writer and co-writer of Rogue Sun), Brian Buccellato (co-writer/co-writer of NO/ONE) and Nick Cotton (co-writer of Rogue Sun) gathered on Friday. Higgins gives a short summary of the massive verse, calling it a collection of “creator-owned, contemporary superhero…

Cebulski kicked off the panel by asking the creators specifically about the “story of origin” and the Fantastic Four as a comic reader. Brevoort, who has worked for Ideas of Ideas for…

SDCC Coverage sponsored by Mad Cave Like most first-time attendees, Tony Weaver Jr. is at San Diego Comic-Con and is excited to absorb the atmosphere. But don’t make mistakes, mental health, and the way he can raise awareness about it, is never far from his heart. The strange tale of his debut graphic novel is a moving tale of bullying and belonging, and has earned the “Book of the Year” honors from Kirkus, School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly and People Magazine. After that, Eisner was nominated. This was icing on top of the cake for this Forbes under…
