Mad Cave Studios has announced Terrorbytes, a new sci-fi horror anthology scheduled to debut in the fall of 2025. Co-authored by Eisner, Grado and Apple Award winner Mark Russell (Superman: Space Age) and Mad Cave CEO Mark London (Battlecats, Wolvenheart, Where competes of hypers of hats of the hats of the has competes. It masks its true cost.
Terrorbytes features a rotating lineup of top artists, with each standalone issue examining the unstable intersection of humanity and technology. Themes like AI Ethics, Deepfake, Online Radicals, and Virtual Reality are placed under a microscope to provide stories that feel like they are approaching the present and distracting both by warnings from the future.
The first issue introduces an unforgettable concept. This allows users to relive their happiest memories at the moment of death, but the price of this final experience is even more frightening than you might imagine.
“There weren’t more horror stories to tell than they were now,” Mark Russell said. “Terrorbytes is a way to explore these fears in a speculative science fiction setting.
“We are thrilled to work on this anthology,” added Mark London. “Black mirrors meet classic horror comics, but have a merciless edge. All issues force us to confront the nightmares we already live in. They rely too much on screens and smart devices. This book makes readers see their phones differently.”
The series promises the art of Juan Deau, Alberto Ponticelli, Val Halvorsen and Felix Lewis, each bringing their own unforgettable style to the anthology.
Terrorbytes #1 will hit comic shop shelves in fall 2025. I question whether I’ll prepare to log off or if I can.
