After the first run of the Street Fighter comic (collected as Street Fighter Classic) ended, the Street Fighter tournament itself ended, and a winner was declared, it felt as if the entire story had been dusted off to some extent. It was done.

Of course, the video games themselves continued, and new characters were introduced to the series as well. So, naturally, UDON is back to once again chronicle the exploits of everyone’s favorite warriors of the world.

To be honest, after I finished Street Fighter Classic, I was so confused about the volume order of the UDON comics that I ended up reading the wrong manga first and was incredibly confused before I started reading this manga. I’m back. In the meantime, I found that I still missed reading a few volumes. I feel like it’s a real missed opportunity that UDON doesn’t clearly state the order in which the books should be read.

Anyway, please keep ranting. If you thought the classic series went to some pretty weird places, wait until you read Super Street Fighter. Super Street Fighter is primarily about Ryu and his young apprentice Sakura being seduced by the dark power of the Satsu no Hado, and Guile investigating the mystery. A secret society, the name is self-explanatory, a very powerful and ancient organization.

It’s filled with the usual UDON artistic flair, but this time the art style is more manga-like, more comic book-like, and less anime-y. Anyway, as you’d expect, it’s gorgeous, and as far as the writing goes, it’s as silly and fun as ever.

The combination of spy thriller, martial arts movie, and outright melodrama is always fun, and it’s a unique style and formula that UDON has really perfected in collaboration with game developer Capcom.

This is a very unashamed 90s style comic, stripped of the faux sharpness and grit that characterized that decade. It’s bright, colorful, and more stylish than it is content, but still a lot of fun.

Like what you read? Would you like to support my blog? No pressure, of course, but I don’t earn any money from writing here, so it takes a lot of effort to keep this site running. Money helps too (although I may earn a small commission from affiliate links featured on my page).

However, I truly appreciate the support you provide. You can easily support us through Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or the PayPal link.

Thank you very much for your donation. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to read my article. thank you very much!

All donations are gratefully received and will not only help me keep the lights on here, but will also help keep my writing dream alive. However, please understand that there is no pressure. I hope you enjoy reading my article.
