Welcome to another creepy edition of X-Men on Monday at X-Fans, AIPT!
How do you follow the Glove Trotting Mini Series? Of course, a star-studded one-shot! On April 2, 2025, Dazzler author Jason Lou and artist Rafael Lowreiro bring to you a concert of champions featuring Alison Blair, Lila Cheney, Luna Snow, Spider Gwen and other Marvel Music stars!
What can you expect from the first concert of the Champions Festival? And what is a deep blank? Luckily for you, Jason was happy to share some details. Let’s see what he has to say.

AIPT: Welcome to X-Men Monday and Jason! I have to ask before going back to writing Dazzler at the Champion concert. What was it like being Alison Blair’s leading author in her miniseries and now in this one-shot? She has a dedicated fanbase, and it appears you could even attend the launch party for Dazzler #1 a few months ago.
Jason Lou: I’m so happy to continue to tell the story of Dazzler during this current X-Men era. I have a lot of ideas for her and I use every real estate they give me to tell me her behind the scenes adventures. And yes! I held a launch party for Dazzler #1 at a science fiction themed bar in Toronto. BabyBel’s drag performance was a very magical night as Dazzler and Devine Darlin as Disco Storm! However, I was also invited to a Dazzler Celebration event hosted by fans at New York Comic Con (thank you, Michael Anderson and Dazzler’s friend!) and the night warmed my heart! Their love and gratitude for her is incredible!

aipt: It’s great – I love a good comic launch party! So, how is the opportunity to continue the Dazzler story on the Champion concert page, and what is the elevator pitch for One-Shot?
Jason: My Dazzler editor, Martin Billo, pitched me the idea of Dazzler as one of the headliners of a Marvel-themed music festival featuring Luna Snow and Lila Cheney. So I came up with a rival mystery band made up of villains about the battle for this band.
AIPT: Well, to put it, X-Fan Alitution was interested in learning about the state of Dazzler taking part in a Champion concert.
Jason: Expect many fallouts from the Dazzler Mini series. Her lifestyle manager, Sofia Mantega, knows that Alison suggested that she should give herself more time to recover before agreeing to the headlines for the Champion’s first annual concert. She’s not in the right headspace for now I can say. You need to pick it up for yourself!
AIPT: Thanks to the addition of Luna Snow, this one-shot has attracted a lot of attention. X-Fan Diana Lincoln needed to know if you would claim her in Marvel Rivals.
Jason: I haven’t played Marvel rival yet! I was too busy working on the comics. But if I had the opportunity to play a rival, Luna would be the first character I’d picked. And Rin is a lie/Iron Fist. It’s really cool to be able to write Luna at a Champion concert. I know how popular she is in the game. Can’t wait to get a variant cover from Marvel Rivals!

AIPT: What can Deep Void, Death Metal Band share about death metal bands that Dazzler, Lila Cheney and other music champions?
Jason: I make that a mystery to readers. But they are made up of the villains of Marvel 616. And their musical influence is the system of Ghost and System, the two bands they used as inspiration when writing songs.
aipt: So, do you think we can expect more Jason Lou originals in this one-shot? X-Fan JG wanted to know!
Jason: Definitely! Two Deep Void songs, essential to Story, and one new song by Dazzler, are called “Doom and Gloom.” What a fitting!

AIPT: So, Luna Snow has real songs that you can listen to on Spotify. If Marvel decides to throw all the money in the world when recording your original Dazzler songs, do you want to hear which pop stars “Out and Pride”, “In the Dark Light”, and other hit tracks from Alison?
Jason: When I was writing Dazzler tracks for her mini, I had Taylor Swift in mind. However, we were able to see Dua Lipa and Sabrina Carpenter turn into bangers as well.
AIPT: I’m sure Sabrina Carpenter will read X-Men on Monday, so let’s see what she thinks! Finally, everyone loves music, but who do you think is the biggest music fan in the Marvel Universe? For example, who spends his free time searching for record stores for the rare Dazzler Records?
Jason: I think most kids at Avengers Academy listen to a lot of music. Has Justin Zinn aka, a child Juggernaut, not wearing a Lila Cheney shirt recently? We could see Justin, Aaron Fisher, Escape and Bloodline spending their time buying record shops and band tees.

AIPT: Well, now I feel like Anthony Oliveira, writer of Avengers Academy, needs to weigh in! But on that note – thank you for stopping by the X-Men on Monday, Jason!
