Following Marvel’s Deadpool/Batman one-shot published last month, DC Comics will be releasing its own Batman/Deadpool one-shot next month. This is the first crossover between manga publishers in decades. After revealing details about the gorgeous main story written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Dan Mora, as well as the characters and creators of the issue’s backup stories and variant covers, DC has released a preview of the upcoming Batman and Deadpool crossover one-shot.
Morrison is no stranger to The Dark Knight, but it’s been quite a while since the prolific writer played in Marvel’s sandbox. It also goes without saying that Dan Mora is one of the most popular artists in the comics industry right now, known for both quality and quantity. Maura and Morrison previously collaborated on Boom!’s Klaus miniseries. The studio was founded over a decade ago, so this Batman/Deadpool crossover project marks their first collaboration since then.
Given the success of these corporate crossovers, it’s no surprise that the publisher has already announced a Superman/Spider-Man crossover for next year. Details such as the creative team have not yet been revealed, so please stay tuned.
The 64-page Batman/Deadpool retails for $7.99 and the cardstock version costs $8.99 and will be available in stores and digitally on Wednesday, November 19th.
