Witches of Eden Volume 1 is an epic Ghibli-style fantasy manga by debut author Yumeji. This richly illustrated coming-of-age story takes place in a world ravaged by humans, abandoned by flora and fauna, and where only witches have the power to communicate with nature. Blamed as the cause of the extinction of plants and feared by humanity for her powers, the witch hides away from humanity in a lush secret lair.
Piri, a young apprentice witch who was chased from her home by humans, sets out on a journey with her wolf orc. However, she is not used to the outside world or traveling long distances. Her fatigue wears off rapidly, and she falls down a rocky slope and injures herself. Fortunately, a boy named Bowie found Piri and brought her home to nurse her back to health. However, the arrival of a strange young woman arouses suspicion among the other villagers, who soon see through her true nature as a witch. And all captured witches are subject to the same fate – execution!
Volume 1 of “The Witches of Eden” will be released in bookstores on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, and in comic shops on Tuesday, November 13, 2024.
