The 2025 Glyph Comics Awards took place on May 10, 2025 via livestream and was compiled by a black era comic convention group on the East Coast of Philadelphia.
It was a big night with Greg Anderson Elise winning multiple awards.

This year there were nine categories:
Story of the Year, Best Cover, Best Writer, Best Artist, Best Comic Strip Web Comics, Best Male Characters, Best Female Characters, Fan Awards, Rising Stars.

From the awards website:

The Glyph Comics Awards recognize the best cartoons made by people of color from the previous calendar year and about people of color. Although not exclusive to black creators, they strive to honor those who have made the biggest contributions to the comic medium, both in terms of significant and commercial influence. In doing so, the goal is to fully encourage more diverse and high quality work, and encourage new creators to add their voice to the field. The award is named after the language of the black comic community in Blogglyph: Pop Culture Shock. Started in 2005 by comic journalist Rich Watson, it offers tangent topics in the fields of black science fiction/fantasy and animation as a means of providing black theme news and comments.

Best Male Characters – Peter of Silk Cotton
Written by Colleen Douglas
Art by Jesus Gun

Silk Cotton Cover

Peter has always been called a “story” like every child in the Caribbean. The story of ancient people bound by silk cotton trees, the supernatural monsters of mythology and legends were whispered in a tone of tranquility, without the speaker hearing and meeting an unjust destiny. Then a day arrived when the woman who was his “mother” was surprised by something that could have only come from his worst nightmare. Now, Peter clashes with the harsh reality of the world he once ordered. The legendary supernatural queen of Charlie and inter-world enforcer, Grace Silk Cotton, is his real mother. The monsters are real, Peter is himself, and a prophetic battle for hegemony, survival, stories, and silk cotton begins.
