This fall, author Stephanie Williams, artist Asia Fullmore, colorist DJ Chavis and letterer Becca Carey are collaborating on Mad Cave Studios’ brand new sci-fi heist series, and Beat has all the details. Tumpalal is the 5th limited series following former The Lipeal Thieves Savannah and Marcus, and started a family and left behind that life behind…or did they do that?

Here’s the complete overview:

Once upon a time, Savannah and Marcus were the most skilled and temporary thieves in the business, slipping through history to acquire rare artifacts. It was before they settled down, had a son and built a quiet life together. Ten years later, when his son Harper celebrates his birthday, Savannah questions whether suburban bliss is enough. When Harper’s disappointment with the replica gaming console causes memories of her previous life, Savanna makes decisions that could endanger everything she and Marcus have built. In response to her husband’s knowledge and the warning of her best friend, Savanna returns to the portal for “one last job.” This is a simple mission to get the original game console from the past. But in a business with time, nothing remains simple for a long time.

Take a look at the interior art of Theppemalal #1, along with the main cover art of Taurin Clarke and the variant covers of Khary Randolph below.

“Toilet represents a big Full-Sarkal moment for me,” Williams said. “This is a science fiction adventure that explores the effects of reexamining how it affects the life that we once guided and the present future. What really makes this story special is that it was inspired by motherhood, the very things I couldn’t have experienced, which I couldn’t achieve.

Fullmore said, “I’m extremely excited to work with Stephanie. She’s so inspirational to me. I’m extremely proud to be working on this project with her! I feel like the Morris family has become a part of myself.”

Thipalal #1 will be available digitally on October 1st at local comic shops. Starting from July 18th, pre-orders will be available through lunar streaming.
