In collaboration with Hasbro, Skybound and Image Comics is raising volumes on Gi Joe: Cold Slither #1, a new one-shot comic hit shelf October 1st.
Inspired by the infamous GI Joe Animation Band, Cold Slither has a chaotic tongue look from a fictional heavy metal group (and certainly not just a disguised dreadknock). Talked from the band’s own distorted perspective, the comic dives into their meteor rise, mind control music, and a showdown with GI Joe when Cobra uses rock and roll to conquer the world.
Tim Seely calls the project a decades-old obsession, but it eventually unleashed, but Juan Cabal adds a personal note.
The comic has a lineup of variant covers that can be collected in loud voices, such as:
Steve Beach Cover A
JuannCabal Cover B (Order)
Brent Schoonover Cover C (1:10 incentive)
Cover D by Steve Beach (1:25 incentive)
Cover E: Blank Sketch Cover
GI Joe: Cold Slither joins the recent wave of Gi Joe projects under the growing partnership of Skybound and Hasbro, including a compilation of the real American heroes and record-breaking Transformers and GI Joe Kickstarter by Larry Hama.
Don’t miss the comics so loudly. It melts your heart. It arrived at comic shops and digital platforms on October 1, 2025, for $3.99.
