At Saturday’s “Jim Lee and Friends” panel at New York Comic-Con, DC confirmed that the Vertigo name is back — really, really! — and the first book to be released under that banner. will be a reprint of “The Nice” “House by the Sea” by author James Tynion IV, artist Álvaro Martínez Bueno, and colorist Jordy Bellaire.
Tiny Onion shared the first issue special edition cover art with Vertigo dressing in their newsletter during a panel discussion and said fans can pre-order the reprint now.
Tiny Onion also launched the “Return of Vertigo” convention bundle. This includes a Nice House enamel pin, t-shirt, and a copy of the original first edition of The Nice House By the Sea #1. The first 10 bundles sold came with a free Tiny Onion convention tote.
On Sunday, Tynion and Alvaro will be signing autographs from 1-2pm ET at Artist Alley booth HB907. Limited copies of the original first editions of The Nice House By the Sea #1 and The Nice House on the Lake #1 will be available at the autograph session.
Vertigo is an industry favorite that was released in 1993 and has been sorely missed since DC ended its service in 2020. Its revival will remember its roots by embracing both DCU character-driven titles and creator-owned series that take big risks. DC previously said it would bring back Vertigo in Thought Bubble 2023, and now it’s making good on that promise.
