Ultimate Spider-Man #15 Review

Spider-Man and his family are running after the event of Ultimate Spider-Man #14, but don’t tell MJ that. She calls it a holiday. He’s an optimist and the main reason why fans love the ultimate Spider-Man. The vacation takes them to the Grand Canyon and, given the ultimate Spider-Man #15 cover, there’s a sandy villain who’s right for the place.

Ultimate Spider-Man #15 will start in March, one month since the last issue. Peter Parker wakes up and walks from his family’s campervan. He knows that he is not helping others on his own.

Two new things in this issue will probably excite fans. One is Richard and Peter teaming up, and the other is Sandman. The customary Sandman of the ultimate title has a different origin, and it is satisfying to get that origin in a single issue. It’s of a rather simple origin, but getting it in one story is still great.

Team up includes a fight with Sandman, and David Messina’s pencil always looks sharp and dramatic. Especially the costumes of both Spider-Man. Honestly, it’s like a one-sided fight, but Richard’s Picotech suit plays even more.

I love that black suit.

The scene steeler in this issue is Richard texting the Black Cat. In the previous issue there is chemistry between the two, which local author Jonathan Hickman will explore.

This issue can also be closed when checking in with Uncle Ben. This is particularly enlightening as I have never seen him or Jameson on some issues. In this scene, Hickman turns the screws into the more important threats of the maker, and sees bullying that Uncle Ben is a major factor in the tyrannical public opinion.

Outside of these elements there are some faint hints on what Gwen is doing. Her boyfriend, Harry Osborne, is probably dead, and she has a lot of technology and money keys. Certainly, this doesn’t end with her asking Spider-Man for revenge, right? It’s definitely an element of Spidey Comics we’ve seen before!

Ultimate Spider-Man #15 combines thrilling action with enchanting character moments to keep the story moving. The Sandman battle may have had more deadlocks, but while some subplots are only touching on temporarily, the issue is excellent at teasing future developments. A solid entry that continues to be built on the strength of the series.

Peter and Richard’s team up add depth to their dynamics.

David Messina’s artwork is particularly sharp in the costume design.

Richard’s texting with the Black Cat teases an interesting subplot.

The battle with Sandman is somewhat one-sided.
