Alongside Hasbro, Skybound and Image Comics have announced their interior page and a full lineup of variant covers for Transformers #24. This is the climactic finale of the acclaimed running in Daniel Warren Johnson’s flagship Energon Universe title. The Double Eyesner Award-winning series featuring artists Jorge Corona, colorists Mike Spicer and Letterer Russ Wooton will hit the comic shop on September 10th, 2025.
Charged as the end of the Ark and the end of the era, Transformers #24 promises the ultimate showdown: Optimus Prime vs. Megatron. The battles that have been built since the first issue finally arrived – and the series is set to close Skybound, known as “the most shocking ending of this year’s comic.”
When Transformers was released almost two years ago as part of the Energon Universe, the debut issue destroyed Skybound Sales Records, sold out before it arrived at the comic shop, and experienced multiple reprints. Johnson’s tenure has earned critical acclaim, sales success, and Eisner won the 2024 Best Continuation Series and Best Writer/Artist. Corona joined as an interior artist in #7, offering one of the most famous modern Transformer Runs.
The finale comes in the main cover by Johnson and Spicer, as well as the following variations:
Jorge Corona & Microphone Spicer (Order Open)
David Nakayama (1:10 connection cover)
Jeff Spokes (1:25)
Piper (1:50)
Johnson & Spicer Wrap Around Cover
The following month marks the dawn of a new creative age as Transformers #25 lining up Robert Kirkman and Danmora alongside Spicer and Wooton in an oversized anniversary issue, making it the perfect jump point for new readers. The issues include special stories from Kirkman and the Coronavirus.
As the core pillar of the Energon Universe, Transformers continues to connect with Void Rivals and Gi Joe, weaving big reveals and sharing storytelling across all issues.
Transformers #24 will arrive at comic shops and digital platforms on September 10th, 2025.
