Marvel’s Immortal Thor has become dramatic close with the release of today’s issue #25. In the final issue, Thor satisfies his shocking fate in Loki’s hands, arrives next month, paving the way for a bold new beginning with Mortar Tor #1. The new series reunites Ewing with legendary tall artist Pascu Alfery, and promises a deep, mythical, deep humanity.

After defeating the ancient gods of Jutgard, Thor’s final victory is shortened by prophecy when he is defeated, and the rainbow bridge is shattered, bringing both Thor and Asgard alive from Earth’s memory. But the story doesn’t end there…

Mortal Thor: In a world that doesn’t believe in God, myths say Asgard was never real. However, in the heart of the city, a man named Sigurd Jarsson awakens, lost, helpless, unconscious of the storm ahead. Without a memory of who he is, this “fatal Thor” must rediscover the magic of God…and fight to bring it back to the world.

“This was part of the plan from the start,” Ewing shared. “Thor is not only the son of Odin, he is also the son of Gaa. This second act is about death, rebirth, and the journey of a man who must walk the earth without power or legend, and still save it.”

Immortal Thor #25 is currently in store, while Mortal Thor #1 can be pre-ordered at your local comic shop. For more information and new covers, visit Marvel.com.
