Tiny Onion Announces 12 Graphic Novel Partnership with Inklore • AIPT

James Tynion IV’s Tiny Onion Substack today announced a new partnership with Inklore. The 12-book deal, consisting of three original graphic novel series, begins with Inklore, a Random House World publication of Random House Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House. Penguin has been making moves in the industry since the beginning of this year, acquiring BOOM! Studio in July.

Rebecca Taylor, editorial director at Inklore, and Kate McHale, senior commissioning editor at Inklore UK, acquired worldwide rights.

“We couldn’t be more excited to team up with James and the team at Tiny Onion,” said Incrore Editorial Director Rebecca “Tay” Taylor. “James’ characters and their relationships with each other always drive his stories, no matter the genre. We hope Inklore readers lose themselves in the heartbreak, propulsiveness, and joy of what Tiny Onion has in store. I can’t wait to put it away.”

Tynion said he met with Taylor at NYCC about a year ago to explain his plans and planned to work together from there. “Shortly after, I had a great meeting with Tay and the team behind Random House World, and I remember asking how aggressively I could suggest something we could build together. Tay and the PRH team told me to be as aggressive as I want… It’s always dangerous to say this to me. I’ve had three series that I’ve been cooking behind the scenes for years. ”

Tynion went on to say that the books they are planning are titles that readers will love. He thinks of graphic novels as “a way to hit the high notes of melodrama through a lens that feels uniquely in my lane, with an incredible group of creators working by my side.”

So what are The Most Beautiful People Who Never Loved Me?

The first of three volumes in the series will be released in 2028, about a magician who achieves great professional success through revolutionary performances at great personal cost.

Tynion went on to say that it will be several years before we hear more about the graphic novel.
