Here’s how DC explains Terrific:
The life of genius-level inventor and Olympic champion Michael Holt was doomed to greatness. But that life came to a halt of screeching when his wife, Paula, and her unborn baby were killed in a car accident. Holtz once shared an ambitious dream of using technology to help others, but after the tragedy, Michael retreated from society and made the Holt industry a mysterious and crazy tech billionaire It was sold to Athena Prescott. Abandoning his dreams will result in an explosive series of events that will take the highly intelligent Holt as Mr. Triffy, from the depths of despair to the heights of heroism.
Created by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake, Michael Holt first appeared on the 1997 “Spector #54” page. Since assuming Terrific’s identity, Holt has been a regular member of the Judicial Society and leads The The The The Treifics, a team that needs to make a comeback at some point. Currently running field operations for Justice League Unlimited. This made him a central figure in the league’s adventures and a kind of antagonist on the pages of excellent challengers in the unknown series.
Mr. Gertific: Year One is the first full-length DC work by poet Al Letson, a graduate of the DC Writer’s Workshop. This is Valentine’s Delandro’s latest DC project. Previous works include Black Manta and Cyborg Art Jois, which also features works by artist Edwingalmon.
In a statement announcing the series, Letson and De Landro expressed their enthusiasm to work together to bring Mr. Eliffey’s early days to a new audience.
“Valentine and I dive deeper and tell the story of who they are as human and superheroes,” Letson said. “I’ve loved Valentine’s work for years and working on this series has been a dream. I can’t wait for fans to see what we’re cooking.”
“It was an absolute explosion in collaboration with Al, Marissa, Edwin, Lucas and the DC editorial team,” added artist Valentine de Landro. “I’m thrilled to be able to contribute to the story of Terific, a character I’ve enjoyed reading over the years.”
