Marvel Comics has announced a new Emma Frost comic that will kick off this June, known as Emma Frost: White Queen. Written by Amy Chu, along with the art of Andrea di Vito, this five island limited series returns to her days as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, seeing Emma see her early rise in power.

“If there’s one character I always wanted to write about after Poison Ivy, the cycle of life and death, that’s Emma Frost, especially bad Emma Frost,” Chu said. “This will be a whole new storyline that focuses on Emma, set in the classic days before she joined the X-Men. We’re revealing the internal mechanics of the Hellfire Club in ways you’ve never seen before and showing you some new villains. I can’t believe Marvel will let me do this, it’s so exciting!”

“I can’t imagine a character who deserves a character that is more deserving than Emma Frost,” added Di Vito. “Her complexity alone is the fuel for an infinite story, and this is about the white queen in her raw form, set in the time when she took her first step towards true power. It’s a privilege to explain these events. There’s no better Emma!”

The comic features a storyline in which Emma tries to find hidden moles within the organization. It also features a breathtaking variant cover by David Nakayama. For more information, please see the official press release below.

A shining new chapter in Emma Frost’s constant history begins with Emma Frost: The White Queen, and White Queen by award-winning author Amy Chu (Red Sonja, Poison Ivy: The Cycle of Life and Death) artist Andrea Di Vito (Deadpool, Invinible Iron Man).

It is set when the X-Men iconic diamond diva was still the cold white queen of the Hellfire Club. Emma Frost: The White Queen will shine the spotlight on Emma with her supervillain’s infamousness and do whatever it takes to secure her throne within her infamous inner circle! Reflecting all aspects of Emma, Saga reminds readers of how dangerous the world’s most amazing telepaths have once been.

On the darkest day of Hellfire Club!

Before she became the heroic X-Men main character, Emma Frost had a different role. As she competes for power with the rest of the inner circle, she witnesses Emma’s ruthless rise to the top! And when she discovers that there is a mole inside the Hellfire Club, where she is revealing secrets to the enemy of their vows, Emma stops nothing to reveal the truth! Dive deeper into Emma’s past, learn shocking secrets, and get ready to bow to the White Queen!

David Nakayama’s cover and pre-order Emma Frost: The White Queen #1 is today at your local comic shop!
