Oni Press has released a preview of Goddamn’s Tragedy #1, a 48-page graphic novel by Chris Condon and Shawn Kuruneru. It was released in the Comic Book Shop on May 28th.
“I love the Western environment,” Crunel said. “I’m drawn to the simplicity of this genre. I like to start with something simple and complicate it through character development and atmosphere. There’s more to explore in Western genres.”
So, what is the terrible tragedy?
Ellen Jansson is here to set a straight-line record of the highly publicized and often sensed journeys that her family undertaken in 1846. But when her father chooses to go through the mountains and take an untested shortcut, can their small family survive the elements, the wildlife, and each other? Or is their journey just another terrible tragedy?
“I think it’s a fascinating period where dramatic storytelling is ripe for, and it’s time for dramatic storytelling,” added Condon. “It’s people who are at odds with their world. There’s nothing safe about it. It’s a great story!”
