There are two universal truths in today’s rapidly changing comic industry. The first is that Valentine’s Day has just passed. Second, more people than ever read comics and Webtoons (aka vertical scrolling comics). Therefore, in Comic Beat, we continue to have a strange romance of Beat. Every week, I recommend three writers some of their favorite comic romances from Japan, Korea and more. This week there are more clamps, more Yuri, and of course games.

What I love is a collection of short cartoon one-shots that first appeared in the magazine Young Young Rose and later collected in one book. Each focuses on another woman or girl who deals with anxiety about herself related to her relationship with a man. It is a fun concept that allows the creators of clamps to explore different aspects of femininity. The ups and downs of being in love and the uncertainty that comes with it.
It also emphasizes the happiness of falling in love. Each story has a happy ending, so that every couple can live happily. I don’t consider this to be a spoiler, as the intent of this series is not to show misfortune. It may be unsettling, but there is no reason to pile up on it in hopelessness.
It’s a really cute series and is very romantic. Each couple, each couple, takes up a different space in the timeline of relationships, whether it’s long distance or just dating. Here are some stories that can break up between depictions of age and messaging fans. But even if there is a better expression for them, the message is still healthy.
Each story also comes with a short essay that highlights a source of actual inspiration. They are not 1:1, but none of them, but certain actual events influenced the emotions explored in each story. You can learn a little about the real woman behind the clamp. Other comic creators also appear in these essays, which are very cool.
If you’re just looking to experience a romantic, light drama that’s more relevant and not high stakes, and you know that it won’t end in a disaster, then I highly recommend this. It’s a cute series that will make you feel all happy by the end! – Derrick Crow

Does the boy love my Yuri like the strange barb I am? That’s why I recommend the opportunity for today. A pink-haired woman named Tricia falls in love with a woman named Elise at first sight. The catch is that Tricia looks like the woman of her repetitive dreams. what do you mean?
I have been reading this series since 2020. The art style is so cute, it reminds me of a cartoon that sounds how the characters are portrayed. However, each character of Tricia, her brother, friend, and even Elise has distinctive hair, eye color and outfits that suit their personality. The art has been more refined over the years. The panels are large and the character art is more detailed, but it is still recognized as Chantsky’s style with the highly expressive range that each character has.
One thing that surprises me from the start is how many characters there are at the beginning of the story. Usually the focus is on the main character, and the supporting cast is gradually introduced. However, from the start, we are introduced to many of Tricia’s friends in ways that don’t feel overwhelming. As their lives overlap, Tricia’s life makes her feel eventful even before she slowly builds up a connection with Elise.
I can forever be extraordinary about the series. I’m not a very gamer and am not looking for a series about games. However, when I saw the anime adaptation of a love story with Yamada-kun at LV999, I was surprised at how much I liked it. This series follows a university student named Kinoshita. He is dumped by her boyfriend for a girl he meets online in Mmorphg, known as the Forest of the Savior. She ropes Yamada and becomes a fake boyfriend and jealous of her, but that backfires. Her plans fail, but she becomes acquainted with Yamada, a well-known pro gammer. Akane had previously played FOS, but this was the first time he’d enjoyed the game as he made new friends and approached Yamada.
This is a very cute rom com. The dual setting between the real world and the game world adds another level to the emotional connection between Akane and Yamada. Akane’s life revolved around her ex-boyfriend for a long time, so after the breakup she didn’t have much of a different personality. I was pleased to see her grow into herself. I also really liked how university is, but that’s not so common in Shoho. The age gap between Akane and Yamada (3rd year high school student) poses a set of story-related challenges, including trying to adjust schedules to align them.
The gaming aspect isn’t too noticeable, but FOS is meant to be a game for casual gamers, so why does Yamada want to play games but don’t want to seriously play games. This gives the story to focus on side characters like Tsubaki who are in love with Eita’s younger sisters, Yamada and Lana.
It also has clichés, but is one of my favorite romance ratios. He’s a cheerful, straightforward, and excited character, and an introvert, quiet, and “brooding.” The two initially butt the heads of their heads, particularly Yamada’s dull tendencies and his almost brutal rejection of the girl who confesses to him. But Akane’s effervescent character and true integrity breaks him out of his shell. – Hilary Leon
